“SVHM SHRI BADRINATH DHAM HOSPITAL”
The first and only hospital at Badrinath with ICU and Ventilator support.
Background
Keeping in view of the rising mortality and morbidity of the pilgrims visiting CHAR DHAM, with majority of these happening at Badrinath due to high altitude and extreme weather conditions, Swami Vivekanand Health Mission (SVHM) society decided to open a tertiary care hospital at Badrinath Dham itself and made it operational along with temple opening last year on 11th May 2019.
Hospital Building
A Glimpse towards establishing the hospital
In the first week of April 2019, a team of dedicated SVHM Doctors visited the pious Badrinath shrine and surveyed the area with the aim of establishing a hospital. The team encountered challenges in form of lack of basic amenities like electricity and water supply as well as other infrastructure/logistics including a building needed for establishing a hospital. The endeavor bore fruits and the Baba Kali kamli wale Trust agreed to lease their Dharamshala building located 500 metres from the temple for starting the hospital without any fee. On 22nd April 2019, the SVHM society sent their 2nd team for starting the groundwork as part of the proposed hospital building was still covered in snow and it had to be renovated and designed as per the hospital requirements. Faced with this problem of lack of resources at Badrinath, the team made their base camp at Pandukeshwar, which is located 22 km from Badrinath and started mobilizing and transporting the required logistics and supplies needed on a daily basis. A local contractor was hired for facilitating the renovation and infrastructural job. The team did wonders and within a short span of 15 day managed to bring all facilities and necessary equipment/logistics required to begin the hospital. They began from 26th April 2019 and by 10th of May 2019 the hospital was fully equipped with all the amenities to be made operational. The hospital was then finally inaugurated on 11th May 2019.
Hospital was Inaugurated by Honbl’e Governor of Uttarakhand Smt. Baby Rani Maurya ji in the presence of Shri Mata Mangla Ji, Vijay Kaushal Ji Maharaj and Dr. Krishna Gopal Ji (Seh Sar Karyavah, RSS)
